I remember being utterly mesmerized while watching a ballet performance; the first time I'd ever seen this type of dance. I was 5 years old and the rented video was labeled 'Swan Lake'. I told my mum that I wanted to learn to dance and weeks later I was sporting a black leotard, pink tights and ballet slippers with my hair slicked back into an immovable bun (the original "bun-of-steel") along with other little ballerina hopefuls in the class. Ballet was the only form of dance that was offered in my little hometown of Lae, Papua New Guinea.

Ballet has been my foundation but I love to learn different styles. I studied ballet until I was 15. I left home and moved to Hawaii, USA after graduating from high school and trained in modern/contemporary for the first time. There I joined Double Portion dance company for about a year.

I've dabbled in tap and found a love for hip hop along the way. I've been a teacher of dance at different junctures in my life between raising 4 children. In the last 6 years I have performed contemporary pieces here and there with some amazing women, my friends for life, from Portrait d'Ame dance company.

My passion to dance comes from a deep desire to satisfy my soul's longing to worship God. It's one of the best ways I know how...
